About the event

(Soma), relating to the body &  (Poetics) ... .literary works  in which special intensity is given to the expression of feelings and ideas by the use of distinctive style and rhythm.

Welcome to the Electric Ladies Project (ELP) Somatic Poetry Workshop Series.  A unique and transformative experience that blends the art of poetry with the inherent wisdom of the body.  Led by experienced facilitators and writers, these workshops will delve into the relationship between the body and language.

Through a series of guided exercises, we will explore sensations, emotions and movement and how they can be powerful catalysts for art and writing.  Join us for one or all of these workshops where we harness the power of curiosity, humor, nature and mindfulness practices to more deeply engage our emotional inner landscape. You will be encouraged to listen to your body on a different wavelength than you have before, opening up new pathways to creativity and mind/body balance.

No prior experience in poetry or somatics is necessary; this workshop welcomes both seasoned poets seeking to deepen their practice and newcomers eager to explore the power of listening to the body.   Somatic body practices can open up past and active trauma, please contact us to discuss if this is an appropriate workshop for you.

Location to be determined, but know you will be outdoors, in nature for a part of this workshop, weather depending!
